Can you spare any unwanted garden equipment?
Do you have any unused gardening equipment lingering at the back of your shed?
Our ever-popular I.C.E students are continuing to work hard on the school allotment, learning some great skills around preparing soil for planting, planting seeds and early plants, weeding, maintaining a garden, looking after plants, cultivating and harvesting.
The students really enjoy this project and get a great deal out of seeing the fruits of their labour, if you’ll pardon the pun.
The problem is, the program has become so successful we don’t currently have enough tools for the amount of students that want to be part of the project.
Being a huge fan of recycling, reusing and being sustainable wherever possible, we wondered whether you had any surplus to requirements gardening tools you are able to donate?
We are especially looking for:
Hand trowels and forks, rakes, edge trimmers, spades, gloves, wheel barrows, compost bins, water butts, picnic benches/patio furniture, secateurs, pruning shears, watering cans, canes…..any and all paraphernalia that goes along with growing fruits, vegetables and herbs.
We are also in need of willing volunteers. We are supported by the amazing Papillion Project who work across Norfolk supporting schools in creating and sustaining their own allotments. If you have the time and willingness to help our school or others then please get in touch with them – it’s not a huge commitment – only a couple of hours a week. http://www.thepapillonproject.com/
