Equipment reminder for science lessons
Please could you ensure your child attends their science lessons with the following equipment:
- Scientific Calculator
- Ruler
- Pen
- Pencil
Option choices for current years 8, 9, 10
SIMS Options is open for students to select their options and for parents/carers to approve their choices.
We would like to remind all families of some important stages to confirm option choices:
- Students have until Friday 16th February to select and save their option choices via SIMS Student
- If students have already selected their options they are able to make any changes online up to this date
- We ask all students to either reconfirm or reselect their option choices each year. Therefore all students in years 8-10 will need to access SIMS Options.
- As parent/carer, you will need to approve your child’s option choices by ticking the parent/carer approval box; you can access your child’s option choices via SIMS Parent. We will only be accepting options from students who have the parent/carer box ticked.
The deadline for selecting options is Friday 16th February, after which time SIMS Options will be closed and no further changes online will be possible.

Parents’ Evenings
During the Spring term, we have Parents’ Evenings on SchoolCloud taking place for each year group:
- Year 10 – Monday 12th February and Tuesday 13th February
- Year 9 – Wednesday 28th February and Thursday 29th February
- Year 7 – Wednesday 13th March and Thursday 14th March

SIMS Student
All students have access to SIMS Student using their school alf.education email address.
If your child has parental controls on their phone, please help them to download the SIMS Student and give them permission to use their school email account on their phone.
To get support with SIMS Student, students can see their computing teacher or Mrs Cooke in the STAR office at break or lunch time.

SIMS Parent
All parents/carers with parental responsibilty are able to access SIMS Parent once registered.

Please ensure that you read your child’s report on SIMS Parent and then complete the parent/carer reply form which has been shared with you via ParentMail in the email to let you know that the reports are available. Your child can also access a copy of their report on their SIMS Student account.
